Remember that in order to complete an honest and transparent transaction, your intermediary will most likely end up knowing more about your business than anyone else.

I started my first business when I was 16 and I have since owned 5 businesses, a number of which have involved manufacturing and production. One of these businesses was a multimillion dollar automation and robotics company involved in the design and manufacture of machinery to improve productivity for the industrial sector. Simultaneously I owned and operated a company that specialized in the manufacture of filling systems for the food and beverage industry. Prior to that I owned an engineering design consulting firm specializing in automotive manufacturing and assembly systems.

I have also held the position of president of a middle market venture capital organization specializing in innovative and environmentally friendly packaging solutions for the beverage industry.

The commonality between each of my companies has been the need to create innovative solutions to manufacturing and production related problems with a clear goal to increase profits.

Given the nature of these businesses, I have had the opportunity to meet hundreds of business owners and build innovative manufacturing solutions for a variety of challenges within their businesses. This experience has proven to be invaluable in aiding business owners to prepare, valuate and market their businesses.

I have been growing, buying and selling businesses for over 20 years. During this time I have been fortunate to be surrounded by successful people who have owned businesses of all sizes from a variety of industries. This has led to an extensive amount of experience in the buying and selling of a large number of businesses. In addition to having conducted the sale of my own businesses, I have developed expertise in coaching and assisting business owners to grow, improve and successfully sell their businesses for maximum value.

My passion has always been helping business owners find ways to make their businesses better.
In the early stages of my career I spent the majority of my time improving productivity and efficiencies. This involved labour and manpower studies, building machinery to automate processes, finding material cost savings and streamlining operations. This was essentially a bottom up approach to fixing businesses.

As my career progressed, I learned that a clear understanding of company financials, marketing strategies and organizational planning was critical in turning a good business into a great business. With this knowledge I was able to turn my last few businesses into multimillion dollar operations.

In summary, my expertise is my years of experience in analyzing businesses, identifying inefficiencies and having the knowledge of how to improve them and maximize value. This ability allows me to expertly assist owners who are looking to Buy, Grow or Sell their business.

When selling a business, trust between the seller and the business intermediary is essential. In my world, the seller’s confidence in me. is critical. In order for me to succeed, the seller needs to feel comfortable and confident in disclosing any and all information about the business to me. By having a thorough understanding of the business I can formulate strategies to control disclosure, reduce risk, avoid liability and simplify the process for all parties. There are many risks associated with buying and selling a business and one small mistake during disclosure could affect the integrity of the relationship between all parties and potentially destroy the deal.

The act of assisting buyers and sellers in the sale of businesses is governed by the Real Estate Council of Ontario. As such, I am a registered commercial real estate agent licensed in Ontario. I am bound to the REBBA 2002 Act which is a strict code of ethics and regulations. A breach of the code of ethics could result in my license being revoked. In addition, I am responsible for my actions as the terms of my license prevent me from hiding behind a corporate name. My business relies on good word of mouth which is directly related to trust and integrity. Without trust and integrity I have no business.
